vulcanization of rubber was discovered and then someone made an all-steel, spun wheel.
Then when we figured out how to easily produce aluminum, someone made wheels from cast, spun, and forged aluminum....
Then carbon fiber came around and someone developed that into a very strong and lightweight wheel.
Titanium wheels were used on a vehicle that holds the worlds fastest land speed record. And so on and so forth. Only one person invented the wheel, but thousands more following have simply made it better. "
